BIKE CROSS-BAR INCIDENTS Most of these occured between being 10 and 15 years old. Almost all of these ‘cross-bar’ injuries occurred when attempting to do ‘stunts’. Not like the amazing ‘tricks on bikes’ that are done today. This was relatively simple stuff such as … ‘pulling a wheelie’ setting up planks to ride up and over an object - like a barrel riding on a dirt/shingle track or riding down a steepish bank, then along a flat area beside a creek, then fast as possible up the bank, to finish off with a ‘wheelie’ at the very top … over and over again. The amount of times the inside thighs were bruised are ‘countless’. Oh … and there were a more than a few direct impacts between where the ‘thighs meet’!
